Spoke recently with Kermit Griffin, been many years since his father passed. I learned of the development of his family which left me sad. Only two left of six. I hope to speak with him again since his cousin Claudia was a member of my class(1967).

Hello everyone. Yes it's that time again and we are praying for a good turnout this year as we approach 2017 Homecoming. . I am trusting that God will allow a big turnout for this year. That means that the last class will be approaching next year .and that means so much to the commnity because the last class marched across the stage and to get their diploma.    On that glorious day many smiled and many cried knowing that would be the last class to walk in the hallway of Belhaven High School. We thank the teachers and all that helped us to get our education to go out in the world and be progressive in whatever we did. In Belhaven, North Carolina that's where it all started but it didn't end there. Education continues,.      Thanks To AllC                                                              ,

I attended Belhaven High School for a few years in elementary school, starting first grade in 1963. Miss Barbara Coffey was my first grade teacher and I have such fond memories of her that I often mention her in conversations about my childhood.

Homecoming 2012 was great!!!! My wife I truly enjoyed all the festivities. The banquet was so delightful with good wholesome fellowship with past classmates and friends. The parade was fun and nice to watch. It was great seeing so many of the past. If a first place reward was being given for the best class tent. It would definitely go to Eddie Sherman, BJ, Wanda and the classmates of 1970. The class of 1970 had a cafe buffet under there tent. The amosphere at the Homecoming yard was charged with laughter and reminiscence about the old times. The alumni committee you did a awesome job. I commend Ms. Health and Vernette and the entire committee on a job well done with the 50th Homecoming celebration.. Thanks

This was my first time on the website and I like it.  I was in the last class that graduated from John A. Wilkinson High School, Class Of 1989.  I enjoy looking at all the pictures, I even saw my mother, Romaine Arthur. I didnt know this existed until my daughter called me and wanted to know when was Belhaven Homecoming and I googled it.  I will share this with my classmates because Im sure most of them dont know this website exist.  I think all Belhaven citizens need to post something to let people find them and keep in touch.
Thanks so much for this!!!!

I went to school in Belhaven for about 6 months in the first part of the first grade, Mrs. Freeman was my teacher.  I have such vivid memories of those 6 months.  My teacher, the sweet smell of food in the cafeteria.  the quaint school grounds, and the walks home from school to grandma\'s house.  Everyone seem to know each other and everyone was a cousin.

To the Class of 1970 and all our friends,
The Family of the late Ralph Satterthwaite sincerely appreciated your kind  expression of sympathy in our great Loss.   Your sympathy to our family was greatly appreciated.  The  Satterthwaite/Sims family find  healing in God\'s tender love  and in knowing others remembered and cared.
Thank  you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

The close of 2010 was sad for the Class of 1970.  We lost our dear friend and classmate, Ralph Satterthwaite.  As we continue to keep his family in prayer, as believers, we know that there is no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.  So, as we continue on our journey, we cherish our memories more now than ever before!

Respectfully Submitted,

Hi Everyone.

The Class of '70 had another wonderful year at the Grand Reunion II.  From start to finish-it was great!  We had classmates who were unable to join us in 2007 that were here this year.  We were all quite excited to fellowship with each other.
The Alumni Club did a great job, once again.  My hat is off to them.  It is a wonderful blessing to come together in friendship and comraderie. Let us continue to build new and beautiful memories.

Homecoming 2007 was a MAGNIFICENT event. It was especially great for us, the class of 1970. We enjoyed each other during the banquet and the Saturday festivities. Some of us were seeing each other for the first time since 1970. Others still had not seen each other very often over the years. The feeling of "being glad to be home and enjoying each other" was pervasive and the energy was unbelievable!!! We have comitted ourselves to being active in next year's homecoming, in an even bigger way, with more of our classmates in attendance. Thank you class of 1970 and I look forward to next year. Wanda

I would like to take the time to commend you for doing an outstanding job in putting this website together and getting us Belhaven Alumni together from all over the country. This is a God send for those of us who live so far away. Being with you last year, seeing so many of my classmates I hadn't seen in years, and seeing some of my teachers that I thought had gone on, brought tears to my eyes. The experience was truly the high point of my year. Although I won't be there with you physically, I will be there with you spiritually. I would like to pay tribute to my mother, the late Mable Bonner Credle, one of the 1st graduates of Belhaven High School and the late George Albert Green, one of the last graduates of Belhaven High School. They were two of the most influential people in my life. May God rest their souls and may he bless all of you. Sincerely, Lester Bonner

Hi Everyone, I am Wanda Whitaker Wilkinson, class of 1970. And I,like you, am enjoying this wonderful website. My hat is off to the Web Master, Johnny Clark. I always look forward to seeing everyone that comes in for homecoming. Whether I saw you year before last (I missed it last year), or whether it was some years ago---I am so looking forward to fellowshipping with all of you. THIS IS AWESOME! I had not been to the site since the early stages and I love seeing what has been done. Kudos, to the creators of this and what a GREAT idea. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend this year's event but my prayers and thoughts will be with everyone. I look forward to hearing about everything.

What a wonderful website! My class (1979) will be honored this year and I look forward to coming home and seeing all of my former classmates and catching up on old times. I'm super excited to bring my husband and twins with me to see our Homecoming Parade and etc. We don't have those kinds of down home venues here in MD so they are very curious and exited about coming. See all of you in a few weeks. - Love, Peace & Blessings, Johnsie

What a thoughtful idea to create a Belhaven Website as a mode of communication. In this society of technological advancement, this site could not have come at a better time! Granted, it was developed to share alumni information, to keep in touch, and to share upcoming alumni events. However, in the future I can see this website serving as a means to highlight what is happening in Belhaven in areas such as political leadership, educational/economic awareness, and housing/urban development. Accolades are extended to John Clark, Web master, and Cynthia Heath, President, for their expertise, and to all who contributed in making this website possible. I Thank you. Your energy, time, and effort will keep Belhaven Alumnus far and near better connected!

I lift my head with so much pride to see this website of people with whom I grew up with and have known all of my life. It is a great tribute to where we came from. I was overwhelmed with pride to see that my mother, Mable Bonner Credle, was among the first graduating class. I commend all of the people who have put time and effort in creating an obtainable piece of history that all of us can be proud of.

I just viewed the site today. Very impressive. I enjoyed looking over the teachers and principles of the past. They brought back memories. It was nice to look back at a part of my heritage at home in Belhaven.
